Prayer Triplets
Calling Two or Three Together!
For where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am among them. (Matthew 18:20, NIV)
In one sermon, Pastor Jerry gave an analogy of how when one is physically sick, there is no appetite for food. We also know what happens when our appetite is lost when we snack on junk food or have sweets first. We lose our appetite and do not receive the nutrition that gives us energy and fights off diseases. Likewise, in the spiritual sense, a healthy diet of God's Word and prayer helps us run and not grow weary, walk and not grow faint. (Isaiah 40:31)
By scheduling time to seek His face, we are asking the Lord to give us that "desire", "that hunger" that is heaven born. Jesus promises that even the "poor in spirit" is competent to ask God and be rewarded in the kingdom of God. He promises to fill those "who hunger and thirst after righteousness." (Matthew 5:3,6)
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12, NIV) Our enemy seeks to isolate and cut us off from our Power source and discourage us from coming to the Lord.
- Pray and ask the Lord who He wants you to connect with to pray.
- Ask that person if she would like a prayer partner.
- Commit to seek the Lord whether to pray in a pray or a triplet.
- Be accountable to one another.
- Encourage and stand in the gap to pray for the other.
- Determine length of commitment. (Six months or one year...)
- Connect with other partners.
Purpose of Prayer Partners:
- We need the Lord.
- We need revival.
- We need to encourage on another.
